Toasting Flutes

Picture
So obviously I didn't make the toasting flutes, but I did do all the beading. I had never worked with beads before so it was a challenge (to say the least), but I love how they turned out.

Mason Jar Vases

Picture
So I decided to embrace our venue and from it came a new theme for our wedding. With our country/rustic feel I decided I wanted to add some country elements and mason jars definitely fit the bill. I bought a dozen mason jars, hot glued on the ribbon, and then hot glued on a bow of twine. Half of our centerpieces will be these jars filled with red, orange, and yellow dahlias and the other half of our centerpieces will be gerber daisies and grass (refer to inspiration page).

Well Wishes Guestbook

Picture
So I decided to go with a well-wishes guestbook, I knew I wanted something other than the standard sign-your-name guestbook, and I like the idea of having the little notes to read on our honeymoon. I'll be using two of the aforementioned mason jars to hold the notes people write us. Now all I need is some kind of bowl (or larger mouthed jar because the 4x4 papers are too large to fit in the mouth of the jar without being folded) to hold the blank pieces of paper. The sign reads "Please take a minute to leave advice and wishes for the bride and groom. And don't forget to sign your name."

Birdcage Veil and Fascinator

Picture
So this was actually a pretty quick and painless DIY. Putting the beads and feathers on the fascinator was probably the most tedious part. I originally started out with an 18x18 square of the netting but cut the length down to 16 inches because it was just too big for my little face. Don't mind the somber face, I was looking at myself in the mirror and determined I looked better not smiling (because I looked like a crazed lunatic smiling).

I know that most brides say they are a waste but I thought they were a cute idea and I ordered from a VistaPrint special so all I paid for was shipping. They're more orange in real life.
